Navigating Kalyuga: Balancing Strength and Compassion for a Fulfilling Life

29 Oct 2024

This is the reality of Kalyuga. To live gracefully in this age, one must possess both strength and compassion. Living in survival mode, as many people do, is not a good idea; it’s a major mistake that ultimately costs them their health. Living in survival mode drains both mental and emotional peace.

The ‘Demon Hand’—the fierce determination to achieve your goals—is essential, as reaching your goals requires skills, power, and courage. It may come across as aggressive, but without this drive, one cannot make progress. Another aspect of personal growth is that you may seem distant or even rude as you focus on self-improvement, choosing to withdraw from the external world to become the best version of yourself.

A Himalayan monk once said that he doesn’t even ask others how they are doing, as it is everyone’s own responsibility to look after themselves, just as it is our responsibility to care for ourselves.

The ‘Heart of a Monk’ is what keeps us balanced on life’s journey. This means being kind and compassionate toward others, even if you appear indifferent. Deep down, you care for others, allowing them to learn and grow, which is essential for their soul’s evolution and purification. This inner goodness reflects one’s true nature and intentions.

In this way, we should strive to live in harmony with the teachings of Shri Rama and Shri Krishna, applying their wisdom according to life’s situations. In Kalyuga, taking action based on your circumstances while remaining in a defensive mode will make life smoother. This approach keeps you safe and secure while taking full responsibility for your journey from the driver’s seat, without judging others for their choices.

Without self-care, it’s impossible to navigate Kalyuga. Only through self-care can you purify your soul, grow, and ultimately move closer to God, paving the path to Moksha.
