The fight between the Devas and the Asuras during the Samudra Manthan wasn't about material possessions. Instead, the Samudra Manthan represents the journey of spiritual awakening—a path of soul purification and evolution.

The tall mountain, or Parvat, symbolizes the mind, which is filled with conditioned thoughts, old programming, and patterns that can create turmoil. Turning this mountain in the ocean symbolizes the process of transforming the mind, shifting between the divine and the destructive forces within us. Here, the individual becomes the Sadhak, one who courageously embraces the journey of healing and self-work in pursuit of spiritual awakening.

The Koorma Avatar of Lord Vishnu supports the Sadhak, allowing them to remain steady and committed to their practice (Dridha Sankalpa) during this process.

As the Sadhak progresses, old patterns and stubborn conditioning—represented by positive and negative thoughts—surface, creating both internal and external battles. This phase, symbolized by the poison that emerged from the Samudra Manthan, represents the trials that test the strength and dedication of the Sadhak. Lord Shiva, in the form of Adi Yogi, embodies detachment and self-sacrifice, absorbing the poison to make space for the Sadhak’s transformation.

When the Sadhak endures these tests with strong will and unwavering focus, they reach the phase where Lord Dhanvantari emerges with the Amrita, the elixir of immortality, symbolizing spiritual enlightenment. This is the true wealth granted to a seeker—the inner abundance that surpasses material possessions and brings overall success and fulfillment on this earthly plane.
